And the Race Begins....

This is the start of the 6th grade boys 1.87 mile race. This was at the first cross country meet of the season. Our school was the host of about 6 other schools at this invitational. It was very exciting.
Here Tainui is in the home stretch, pushing to the finish line. He is running next to a fellow Eagle, one of the fastest guys, he tells me.
Tainui pulls it out in the end and even beats his 'very fast teammate'. He placed 19th out of 108 boys. Like I said, it was VERY exciting to watch and encourage all these kids (especially my own:)).

Great job T! There's nothing better than surprising yourself and beating who you think is one of the fastest runners. That kid looks pretty toned like he runs a lot with his Dad or something. So, soccer, baseball, and basketball must be paying off with giving you that endurance. It reminds me of when I ran cross country for Martin Murphy Middle School (Go Mustangs nnneeiighh! hahha) We would run in the hills with signs all over saying watch for mountain lions. Ok so watch for them, but what do you do when you see one? Needless to say that was a good motivator to run fast. Remember to pace yourself especially with long distance like you are running. The last picture is classic where one of the fastest kids on your team is watching you run by him. Great pics Kris. I like the starting picture it looks like pandemonium! Hahah

Hey, another miracle...we got into your blog and can even comment. But, HEY, again. There is nothing new here but I can't say anything, because there is nothing new ever on our blog either.

However, I know this is short-lived. we will go silent again soon from the PRC!

Tainui is looking GOOD!

Okay, Kris, TIME TO POST! We are dying for updates over here in China. And, this is a miracle day when we can actually read and comment without the back door method of reading only.
I FINALLY posted, so I can nag. (Mom)
(but, as you can see, I can only post as anonymous)

Kristy, Thanks for commenting on my blog. There wasn't an email address on your profile, so I'll just leave a comment. I do remember your family. Heather was closest in age to me. As far as photography tips, do you have some specific questions? Just email me. Your family is beautiful. We lived in Oregon for 4 years. It is beautiful in the Pacific Northwest, but I really love the sunshine here!
