Tainui Soccer

Well, this weekend we went down to Portland for a soccer tournament. They boys did well, even bringing home the gold...or first place...or whatever they were calling it. :) It was quite exciting, especially when Teina got stung twice by a hornet or a wasp or a yellowjacket or whatever the heck it was during an already very intense game.

Tainui and his accessory

At the reptile zoo, Tainui was digging his newest fashion accessory--live ball python. The kids still ask if they can get a snake. Maybe if they are lucky, we can get another beta fish.

Girl Talk

It was quite a fun little outing the other day when Sommer got a bunch of us out of our houses and to the beach. Well, for all of you with 'real beaches'....to the lake with sand. I was lazily sitting on my blanket taking random pictures of all the kids...and these cuties, Eden and Sage were totally cracking me up. They really looked very interested in what each other was saying and doing. Very fun.

The boys and their pet

Okay, this definitely brought back great memories of growing up with our tortises. I took the kids to the Reptile Zoo here and they really enjoyed it. We especially liked hanging out with the huge tortises outside while they were cruising around looking for food. The kids couldn't resist feeding them the grass, even though the sign said to not feed them. It was even hard for me to keep them from doing it since I loved feeding our guys so much and kept telling them stories about it. Anyway, now they won't stop asking for a pet tortise...they are also trying to get a snake in the house but there is no way that is going to happen with their dad being afraid of snakes. shhhh....don't tell him I said that. :)

What's the count?

Well, I'm sure no keeps track of the goals they score in soccer......but I asked Vaughn how many he scored in his game the other night and he flashed me this sign. (I had actually been counting :)).

A Thoughtful Taz

Maybe she's nervous before the parade? No, she is just waiting before her gymnastics group goes to join the Snoqualmie Railroad Days parade. It is fun to watch her concentration as she marches...she listens for the whistle, takes position and then executes a very cute cartwheel. She says she wants to try karate next. She may just lean more toward less feminine things hanging out with all these brothers, we shall see.

Taz Soccer Gear

Taz poses in her soccer gear...ready to start the season!

She says she can run WAY faster in her new Beckham boots/cleats. Successfully scored at Goodwill yesterday in pristine condition. Gotta love that!

Blue Angels

Well, I took the kids over the bridge (quickly, before it was closed) to watch the blue angels practice for Seafair this weekend. It was very cool, although I believe for some odd reason, my children didn't get it. I actually heard phrases like, 'this is boring' and 'when are we leaving'. I almost choked on the smoked almonds I was eating(those are delicious, have you tried them? big, fattening container from Costco?). I then tried to threaten them by telling them I was going to call Grandpa or one of their Uncles and have them tell them how uninteresting it was.....anyway.....You have to keep taking your kids out and exposing them to great stuff, even if it is extremely frustrating, right?

Soccer fever

Tainui wanted me to take a picture of him doing a rainbow with his soccer ball...just for Uncle Joe. :)
