Blue Angels
Well, I took the kids over the bridge (quickly, before it was closed) to watch the blue angels practice for Seafair this weekend. It was very cool, although I believe for some odd reason, my children didn't get it. I actually heard phrases like, 'this is boring' and 'when are we leaving'. I almost choked on the smoked almonds I was eating(those are delicious, have you tried them? big, fattening container from Costco?). I then tried to threaten them by telling them I was going to call Grandpa or one of their Uncles and have them tell them how uninteresting it was.....anyway.....You have to keep taking your kids out and exposing them to great stuff, even if it is extremely frustrating, right?

Wow, that's a shame. I wish I was in their place. Gotta love the blue angels. Especially since I've never seen them fly around Seattle before for Seafare. Ashley grew up going to Seafare which I'm happy for. You better not tell Grandpa or he'll ring their little necks or something jk
They just need to get scared like never before by a Blue Angel flying over them very close. Then maybe they'll have a little more respect. That's funny, actually.
Well, we always thought, "they'll appreciate this one day." This was when we took you all or some of you to things you didn't seem to enjoy. And, guess what? You did (mostly). :) So, there's still hope. Yes, keep giving them experiences; sometimes it just takes time for things to 'grow on you/them.'
Yes! You keep exposing them to as much things as you can--although you might regret it once in a while, like when I took the boys for sushi at lunch today and Charles ordered the eel for the third time in a row. I don't even eat that stuff.
We loved SeaFair because the only thing that is cooler than the Blue Angels, is watching them do their show in a unique location. It was fun to see them buzzing around Lake Washington. Of course, I would have to say that Fleet Week probably beats SeaFair on that account, but I wouldn't know personally since I've never been. We saw the IMAX "figher pilot" film this weekend and the boys sat there with their jaws in their laps for 45 minutes without moving a muscle (actually Charles would unwittingly move his head back and forth during the flight scenes through the canyons, but otherwise, they didn't even blink).
Even I have learned so many things from your very wise and learned father - and I never even lived with him! And yes, I Love those almonds. Try my new favorite snack now - almonds and Craisins together!
